Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive – Kilimanjaro International Airport

Upon arrival, you will be met by our representative, and get transferred to the accommodation. On arrival, you will be welcomed by our staff at our camp/homestay.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Coffee Tour & Nature Walk

Because you are tired of the long journey the breakfast will be ready from 08h30, after the breakfast, you will have a briefing about us and today’s activities.

Our guide will lead you to the farm where you will have a chance to experience and learn all about the coffee tour from the seed to a cup of coffee which you will prepare yourself on the farm in a local way. This tour takes 2 to 3 hours.

After the coffee tour, walk down to the camp for hot local lunch.

This afternoon at 14h00 you will experience the natural beauty of the forests and the rivers on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Many parts of Mount Kilimanjaro are known as protected natural areas. Not all of these areas are accessible but guided by a local guide where you can enjoy the natural beauty of the mountain. Taking you along the borders of Kilimanjaro National Park. If it is your lucky day, you may be able to see some Colobus monkeys and Birds species.

After dinner is storytelling about the Chagga and their taboos with our Staff. You may have the drinks which are available.

Day 3 Chagga History Hike & Waterfall

Today you are going to experience the real local life of the Chagga people who are indigenous to Moshi. Visit the very old house which was used by our grandparents before independence. This house is built of banana fibers and has only one door and no windows. They used to cook and sleep in this house.

Thereafter visit the Chagga cave where the Chagga king (Mangi) was used to hide during the conflict between the Chagga and the Maasai.In the afternoon (13h00) having a hot local lunch at the campsite

At 014h30 drive to the waterfall. This water is from Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest outstanding mountain in Africa. During the hiking to the waterfall, you will enjoy the very nice scenery of the place, here you can swim

Day 4 Banana Tour

09h00 This excursion, together with explanations about all varieties of Banana types which are found in our villages, is also a chance to participate and get the real experience of Banana beer brewing. You may have time to see the Banana prepared, boiling, and brewing Area. Get all explanations on how bananas are fermented after being boiled and etcetera. Later in the evening, you will participate in the activity of mixing the Banana juice with Millet porridge. Then go back to the Campsite, and the day after breakfast you will go to taste the Banana beer you brewed the Day before

Chagga like other tribes has this local beer, which they use in their different ceremonies like Pre Wedding and weddings, Community gatherings, and during Funeral activities.

Thanksgiving to ancestors (this was before the religious come to Kilimanjaro but some people still use the do the thanksgiving to the ancestors)

Day 5 Hot Spring

Before breakfast at 07:00Hrs, you will go and see the beer you prepared yesterday and see the difference including the alcoholic status. Back for breakfast.

Today you will be ending your time with us by visiting the hot spring where you will swim and then drive back to the accommodation.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 6 Departure Day

After breakfast, you will be ready for the departure or other of your arrangement.
